My name is Alexander Forst, i m from Berlin in Germany but i moved 6 years ago to Walchwil in switzerland. Photography is my hobby which i only do in my freetime.

Since i can remember i m a sience fiction fan, i love starships and stars and it was my big dream when i was a child to travel to the stars one day. well star traveling will not happend this life for me but i can shoot them and my camera allow me to see more of the space as i can see with my eyes. To photography it self i came very late(3 years ago). I Started when i bought a motorbike and driving the pass streets in switzerland. I felt that my mobile camera is not good enough to capture the beautiness on my roadtrips. That was the reason to buy a better camera (sony a5100 aps c) and to practice photography.

Later i found a photogroup on Facebook wich is specialised on night time photography. I saw the shots of the Milkyway and just thought. is this real? so i made a test with my camera with exifs the photographer writing under their pictures there. And yeah it was real but my new camera was not good enough for higher quality shots. So i bought my first fullframe camera and now 3 years and 4 cameras later i can capture the fully beautiness of the nightsky.

My Equitment:

I m shooting right now with a Sony a7iii, a7riii and a astromidfied a6100 apsc camera.

I own two Ioptron Startracker

I have quiet alot lenses. Mostly very Fast. From Sony 16-35 f2.8 gm, 24 f1.4 gm, 20 f1.8 g. Laowa 15mm f2, Voigtländer 35 f1.7, Voigtländer 50 f1.2, Sigma 50 f1.4, Sigma 85 f1.4 Art DN and many more but the other i dont use for Astro.

I need all of that equitment because often i m shooting more as just one composition in one night

Where is you favourite place to photograph the night's sky?

I like places where i never been before and which impress me. Right now it is Madeira because i spent my last holidays there, but it will change soon. Switzerland is also an amazing country to shoot the nightsky. Personaly for me a good picture composition is more important as perfect conditions. I am shooting mostly in Bortel class 3 and 4 and getting good results there.

What is your favourite picture and why?

My Favorite picture is probably the next picture i will do. i dont look often to my old stuff. i like them but in love i will be only with my next project
