This was my first image with my new setup. I was never happy with the processing until now. An SHO image of NGC2359 comprising of:
Ha - 9 hours
OIII- 10 hours 45 minutes
SII- 25 hours 15 minutes
Total - 45 hours
15 minute subs.
Acquisition - Planewave 12.5" CDK, PME, QSI 583 8WSG CCD, Lodestar auto guider, TSX, Maxim DL.

Here we have Thors Helmet - NGC 2359.
This is one of those targets that you see and just want to get a picture of, one day!
So finally got around to having a go.
This target lent itself well to a depth of field experiment, the foreground area being very sharp and contrasting against the softer background. Would be interested in hearing if this approach has worked?

Latest from Star Stalker Observatory. Thor's Helmet.
This one has been on my list for a while but for various reasons I never shot it. I am not entirely sure I am done with it as I think I would like several more nights of narrowband data, but I haven't had a chance to get any more the past few weeks and it's getting a bit far to the west to get much/night this season so I figured I would go ahead and process what I did have to see how it is looking.
A little over 13 hrs of combined data in narrowband and RGB.

NGC2359 Thor's Helmet in NB
Took this beautiful nebula also knows as Tor's Helmet during my visit to Namibia Astrofarm. Finally got a few nights to process the raw images to the photo you see here.
